In order to strengthen our engineering team we are looking to hire a BIW Archetypes Design Specialist based in Maranello (Italy).
You will part of R&D Department, particularly in the group of BIW Archetypes & Methodology (Body in White). The activities of archetypes & methodology are relatives at the structure of Ferrari Sports cars. The Ideal candidate working within the BIW Archetypes & Methodology Department is an experienced engineer, passionate about complex BIW design & development and their integration at vehicle level.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for:
• Activities related to design conceptual solutions: identification and optimization of solutions for weight, cost reduction, complexity reduction and performance maximization.
• Activities related to CAD design and methodologies: bill of design, design typical sections as well as 3D modelling for the new design archetypes / concepts.
In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering or equivalent. And you will have gained at least 5 years’ dedicated experience on the design, development, and release of BIW.
Entire BIW design (underbody, upper body and closures) within multi-material design knowledge (i.e.: aluminum, carbon fiber and steel), typical section development and styling feasibility are mandatory to manage the activities. Familiar with manufacturing requirements, such as joins technologies (i.e.: bonding, riveting, and welding), manufacturing technologies (i.e.: stamped, castings and extrusions) are important for the role. Interpreting experimental results and CAE simulation is a plus.
The effective completion of your daily tasks requires you to be a proficient user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook). Knowledge of Catia Software is mandatory.
Fluent English is required for the position and Italian language skills are an advantage. In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment, strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role.
