In order to strengthen our engineering team we are looking to hire a Half Shaft & Wheels Design Specialist based in Maranello (Italy). You will be responsible for the development of new components/systems ensuring compliance with performance, quality, weight, time and cost targets, at the various project stages. Supporting the maintenance of the components/systems of its own perimeter during the life cycle of the vehicle/vehicles that use them, with a focus on improving quality and reducing costs.

 

In this position, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Collaborate with the Architectures & Concept Team in the definition phase of the technical solution, ensuring compliance with the weight, time and cost targets of the assigned component/system, using the company tools provided.
  • Produce and collect the documentation required for the start of sourcing (e.g. product sheet, mathematics, CAD drawings, target costs) ensuring it is complete and up-to-date throughout the sourcing phase.
  • Define, in collaboration with the Vehicle Testing Authority, the deliberation plans of the perimeter components/systems, respecting the development timeframe and ensuring the achievement of performance/quality targets.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility, robustness of the project, mountability of the components and the availability and release of the technical drawings of the perimeter components within the required timeframe and respecting internal Quality standards. Manage and coordinate the activities of codesign and engineering suppliers. Detect and highlight any critical issues or non-conformities with the Design/Experimentation Standards, proposing corrective actions to achieve the assigned objectives.
  • Ensure the availability of project FMEAs, installation where foreseen, with risk assessment and support the activities of process FMEAs
  • Prepare the necessary documentation for technical changes, request their evaluation, define the validation plan and monitor it. Support the RPA in approving and ensuring the release and completeness of related drawings. Monitor the implementation of changes in production, respecting agreed timeframes and methods, interfacing with the relevant bodies.

 

In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Engineering or equivalent. You should ideally have gained at least 3 years’ dedicated experience in one or more of the following areas: R&D, Program Management, Testing. Basic technical knowledge of mechanisms, constant velocity joints structural analysis and good knowledge of CATIA CAD and PLM Windchill are required to manage the activities for the role.
In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment, strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role. It is important to be proactive proposing new solutions to optimize all the processes and activities. 
Fluent English is required for the position and Italian language skills are an advantage. We appreciate individuals with experience outside their country of origin, allowing for a multicultural mindset.
