In order to strengthen our Accounting team we are looking to hire a Staff Accountant-Tax, based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
In this position you will be reponsible to provide for Ferrari North America, Inc. and subsidiaries' monthly tax returns and payments to ensure compliance. Manage reconciling and analyzing tax accounts, assisting audit activities, and maintaining tax software.
As part of the team, your main responsiblities will be:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and keep Avalara up to date, including tax-exempt certification uploads.
- Monitor and confirm the US monthly sales & use tax return and payment status.
- Prepare monthly Canadian tax returns and submit payments.
- Responsible for HFM actual & forecast submissions and year-end tax packages.
- Reconcile monthly tax-related balance sheet accounts and analytics on cash forecasts.
- Responsible for making quarterly income tax and other payments as required.
- Maintain all supporting documents and assist with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requests.
- Review and update tax rates, jurisdictions, registration, and exemption status on a regular basis.
- Review and follow up letters from states, the IRS, and the Canada Revenue Agency.
- Provide tax inquiry documents and follow-ups with the consulting firm.
- Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
In order to succeed in this challenging role a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or Finance required.
The following skills are required to perform the role: 2-5 years’ years of relevant accounting/tax experience preferred. Experience with G/L functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Experience with Avalara is a plus. Thorough knowledge of General Ledger Accounting. Excellent organizational skills. Accuracy and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, ever-changing environment. Must have strong work ethic and integrity. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
