In order to strengthen our R&D Department we are looking to hire a Cell Design Specialist based in Maranello (Italy). 

 

With strong commitment on electrifications, and full engagement in excellence, Ferrari aims at cutting-edge technology for best-in-class electrified vehicles. To achieve that target, Ferrari is looking for a cell specialist on cell design to strengthen the cell team. 
You will be responsible for electrical and mechanical design of the battery cell, including the overall architecture, components, and packaging. You will develop prototypes and test them to ensure that the cell perform as expected. 

 

In this position, you will be responsible for:

 

•    Design the Electrical and mechanical part of the cells, create drawings (including inside and the finished cell) with the chosen design to fit project requirements. 
•    Establish the relation between cell electrical and mechanical design change and cell performance output, performing quantitative study on the output of cell target specifications.
•    Scaling up cells, from lab-scale to target cell size.
•    Use computer-aided design (CAD) software or similar to create 3D models and schematics of battery cells, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all technical specifications.
•    Design and develop prototype battery cells, taking into account technical requirements, production feasibility, and cost constraints.
•    Perform tests and analysis on the performance of the prototypes, identifying design flaws and areas for improvement.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, chemical engineers, material specialist and other battery related teams, to ensure that the battery cells meet the specific requirements of Ferrari’s applications.
•    Ensure that the battery cells comply with industry standards and regulations, such as those related to safety, environmental impact, and performance.
•    Monitor and report on the progress of cell development projects, keeping all stakeholders informed of key milestones and challenges.
•    Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.

 

In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Material, Engineering, Design, Mechanical with 3 years of working experience in battery cell design.
Strong knowledge on cell design parameters, process limitations, and their quantitative impact on cell performance/behavior and proved experience with CAD software and other design tools are mandatory to manage the role.
In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment, strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role. It is important to be proactive proposing new solutions to optimize all the maintenance’s processes and activities. 

 

Fluent English is required for the position and Italian language skills are an advantage. We appreciate individuals with experience outside their country of origin, allowing for a multicultural mindset.
