To strengthen our Quality Department, we are looking to hire a Mechanical Development Quality Engineer based in Maranello (Italy).
In this position, you will be responsible for driving Advanced Quality activities for new products under development—such as gearboxes, e axles and PTUs—ensuring flawless launches and the continuous improvement of current production.
As part of the Quality Development team, you will be responsible for:
• Actively participating in the risk assessment of new vehicles under development.
• Managing the analysis of open issues (Development, Test Drive and Field) and coordinating corrective actions.
• Preparing reports and involving the Vehicle Regulation Team when field issues could trigger an action on field.
• Monitoring Field and 0 km Quality KPIs versus targets for each model.
• Analysing engineering drawings to ensure full alignment with technical specifications.
• Reviewing Bills of Material (BOM) to identify new “archetypes” and defining dedicated DVP&R plans.
• Taking an active role in design reviews.
• Defining, together with Perceived Quality, the Appearance Master and/or defect catalogues.
• Contributing to DFMEA and PFMEA creation.
• Preparing cross functional action plans to increase product reliability.
• Tracking Quality deliverables versus each Program Gate and leading corrective actions to achieve quality targets.
• Compiling and presenting Quality KPI reports.
• Driving continuous improvement through structured Lessons Learned activities.
To succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have:
• A master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent).
• ≥ 3 years of automotive experience (preferably in an OEM) and at least 1 year in a quality engineering function.
• Hands on experience with transmission components and related manufacturing processes.
• Proven command of automotive core tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, PPAP, 8D and problem solving methodologies, plus familiarity with IATF 16949.
• Basic knowledge of component manufacturing processes and process control.
• Ability to organise and prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment, with a proactive, problem solving attitude.
• Fluency in English; Italian is mandatory. Experience gained outside your country of origin is highly valued, fostering a multicultural mindset.
